What is a Roleplay Server?
On a roleplay server, you’re not just playing a character—you become that character.
It’s World of Warcraft as an ongoing, unscripted story:
- Your orc is more than a bunch of pixels—they’re an exile, a mercenary, a shaman haunted by bad puns.
- Your night elf isn’t just a healer—they’re a Moonwell poet with relationship issues.
The difference?
On RP servers, everyone’s in on the act, and the game world is shaped by character-driven interactions, drama, and creative chaos.
How Do I Start? (Spoiler: It’s Easier Than You Think)
1. Make a Character
- Don’t stress the “backstory.” Start simple: name, a couple traits, a goal. (“Gruff blacksmith, always hungry. Searching for lost hammer.”)
- No need for Tolkien-level lore—just enough to get you talking.
2. Introduce Yourself In-Game
- Hop into a tavern, a guild event, or the open world and use
/sayor/emoteto speak as your character. - Example:
Falgrom looks up from his tankard. "New faces in Everlook, eh? Watch your coinpurse and your secrets."
3. Join the Conversation
- Don’t be shy! Most RPers love when new folks jump in.
- Try answering someone in-character, joining a group, or even starting a random event (“Anyone seen my lost murloc?”).
4. Learn the Etiquette
- Stay “in character” in public chat (use OOC markers like ((text)) if needed).
- Respect other players’ stories. No “godmoding” (controlling others’ actions).
